Proposals
Sponsored Research, acting on behalf of the Board of Trustees of Northwestern University, as delegated in the University Bylaws, is responsible for the review and approval of all proposals and proposal updates for research and other sponsored activities that are to be funded by external parties. As such, only Sponsored Research is authorized to submit proposals for the Institution, and all proposals are required to be reviewed and approved by Sponsored Research prior to submission.
Northwestern submits more than 4,000 funding proposals annually for a wide variety of sponsors, including Federal, state, and local government entities, as well as domestic and foreign non-profit and industry organizations. Our office recognizes the immense efforts by those across the university who are involved in the preparation of these proposals, and we are committed to helping all Northwestern principal investigators and staff prepare and submit complete, compliant, and ultimately successful proposals.
