Sponsored Research is pleased to announce a new Proposal Development and Submission SPOT course, which is now available in MyHR Learn as part of the Intro to Research Administration curriculum.
About the Course
This 45-minute course provides research administrators with an overview of the processes, policies, and expectations for preparing and submitting proposals at Northwestern. Developed in partnership with departmental research administrators, the course is designed to reduce proposal send-backs, improve review turnaround times, and promote consistent proposal development and submission practices across the University
New Supporting Resources
To complement the course, Sponsored Research has also developed the following resources:
These resources are intended to serve as the primary reference materials for proposal development and submission questions.
Who Should Complete the Course?
Designed for both new and experienced research administrators, the course establishes a common foundation of knowledge and reflects current proposal requirements and review practices. Participants will learn about:
- Required proposal documentation and approvals
- Which proposal components are reviewed by Sponsored Research and which are not
- Best practices for compliant, complete, and on-time proposal submissions
Research administrators who prepare or submit proposals, as well as managers who oversee proposal submissions, are asked to complete the course and become familiar with the accompanying resources.
Thank you for taking the time to review these materials. We welcome your feedback as we continue to expand Sponsored Research's training and resource offerings.
