Graduate Student Stipend Rates in Proposals

As many of you are aware, there are discussions about increasing the Graduate Student Stipend rates. The new rates have not been ratified and should not be used in proposals until such time that they are approved/ratified. We anticipate this decision to be finalized within the next few weeks.
Most federal sponsors allow rebudgeting within the award and we can adjust the budget accordingly if awarded. For sponsors that do not allow rebudgeting at award phase, we will make exceptions and allow proposals to be submitted with the higher rates. This includes budgets for proposals where NU is the subrecipient if the prime institution does not allow re-budgeting.
We anticipate this to be of minimal impact since a final decision will be made within such a short period.
